But once your Google Analytics account configured, what do you make of so many data? It’s one thing to know your bounce rate and what page get most visits… but wouldn’t it be better to know exactly what area of your site is converting best? What content type gets the most attention (instead of mere pages)?

Whether you have a lot of types of content like blog, news, tools, tour, or just a single blog talking about many subjects, it’s always very useful to know exactly what section works best on your site.

In order to track and analize each section’s performance, you‘ll have to break down your google Analytics data into sections and organise them by content type. Now this results easier if you already have a well-organised structure.

Once the content filter configured, you can start analyze and compare the success of your site’ sections:

1. Number of page per section : With Link Sleuth, you can crawl your site and check how many pages has each section.

2. The number of keywords that send you most traffic. Here, keywords don’t matter as much as how many of them actually bring traffic to each section.

3. The number of page that receives visits from search engines. How many pages receive visits from Google for every section.

4. The total of Google visits for each section.

5. The percentage of visits that achieved a conversion action (for this you need to have configured your goals in Google Analytics already).

By Tracking and analyzing all these data, you’ll be able to identify what type of content Works best and what doesn’t. You ‘ll learn what kind of content needs more work done.

Good starting point to start drawing conclusions from this mishmash of data that is Google Analytics.
